The first 2 digits indicate year, the next 2 are the month, and the following numbers are the run series sequence. The neck block numbers follow some different pattern after the first four, which are often the same as those on the neckblock. The number on the neck block is an additional tracking number used internally. It is true that the number on the neck block will be different, but it will probably start with similar numbers to those on the label (but not always)...representing the year produced. The 3rd and 4th numbers usually represent the month the guitar wa produced. If this doesn't make sense when you check out your numbers, send me both and I will try to decipher the info.." Posts: 2 Aug 2 08 11:35 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	It ain't necessarily so. I own a BR180 - and the first four digits (on the label and stamped inside) are NOT the same. The label begins with 0702 and the burned interior stamp with 0701. I realize that this is only one month apart (actually only several days if the next digits relate to the specific date, as do Taylors, for example.) In any event - same is not the same as not the same. The paper sticker just inside the sound hole from Saga says the serial# is: 02010287 the neck block# is: 0112120294. Can any of you nice folks give me some idea of the year and production number. This guitar was only played for demonstration purposes and still has the plastic on the pick guard along with the original strings. I am curious about how much it is worth. I realize I can't sell it as new but it is a perfect mint condition instrument. Also, the guitar is not for sale. I am just curious. I don't think any of us here know anything about production numbers. Your best bet is to send those numbers to Saga and see if you can get David Gartland to chase down more specifics. If it is an '02, it has been around quite a long while for a demo. sounds like you got a winner. Dave Striving for mediocrity and perpetually falling short.

Dave I have just noticied them randomly on the internet. I have read comments such as they really took a lot of pains to make these first ones very good. I have compared mine to later models and have noticied that the grain in the wood is much straighter on mine than the new ones are. I have replaced the tuners on mine with Gotoh's. Also replaced the cheap bridgepins that came on it with Martins. I still have the original keys for it though. It's a real power house. As good or better than any Martin!

Just wondering my birthday is in May...it could be the same date? ha , that would be cool..... :o) .......... I'm glad Saga made these guitars, great quality... super investment, for the money...

I'm doubtful that they'll have the exact date, but it's worth a try, Resoman. glad you found your perfect Blueridge, and glad you found the UBGF. Post more often and tell us about that BR 180. Posts: 7 Aug 8 10 11:19 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	thanks dmcowles, I will try an email to them ....you never know... yes I will let the forum know more about my BR-180 as soon as the end of my fingers get harder, hehehe, I have played so much Resonator and Pedal Steel of late that my fingers have gotten soft, so in the process of going through this slight discomfort of building back my "playing " fingers...and today my fingers are tingling, he he he , thats good though, I love the guitar so far...

Congratulations... you did get a great guitar. As far as year and month you are right on, but the day is a bit more difficult. The final number relates to the number in production for that particular run. I wish I could be more specific, but at lease we got the month correct. Enjoy your new guitar. Forgive my ignorance, but is the neck number behind the plate? If so, I have to de-string my guitar to read the numbers.

Yours is probably one of those, and if the inside label is missing you may be unable to ever determine the number . Striving for mediocrity and perpetually falling short.

On the brace it is the serial number: 03540686 The "yy/mm/production number" format can't be applied here. I contacted Saga and I am waiting for the answer. Until then, can anybody tell me the month/year of my guitar? Thank you
