Of course only Stanford knows why they haven't tried to establish more of a presence here in the US ... maybe they've already done the marketing and
decided to stay on a limited production for the US dealers and buyers.

other than to support a dealer or potential dealer we may know and get warranty work done if necessary, why should we care whether or not stanford becomes more
established in the U.S.? i know it's like seeing a good movie, reading a great book or discovering a fine restaurant and wanting to tell everyone you know
about it. but it wouldn't bother me in the least to be amongst the blessed elite few who own one of these!

lanaki wrote: Well that's easy to say because you own 1. But what if you had heard about them later and none were available? I'm probably guilty of being way too passionate about these guitars and I honestly hate recommending things to people that they will eventually have a Hell of a time getting their hands on as well. Maybe I'll start recommending Estebans. Those are in great US abundance for some reason, as foul as they are. Price point and tremendous "hype" no doubt. Maybe Imusic should hire Esteban to market Stanfords.

i know. i do sound rather selfish in the above post. in actuality, i've been raving about the guitar to anyone who will listen. i've got a better
recording setup headed my way and so i will also do more to promote stanford in video and audio formats. if i was financially able, and after i determined the
stanford would hold up well in hawaii's weather, i'd invest in several for resale if stanford does not require a storefront.

I wouldn't require a storefront to distribute, just some help, understanding, & passion.

lanaki wrote: Rave on, brother...... . I like the guitar sound you have with the
videos you're doing now. If you can improve on that, even better. I too would invest in some of these guitars (for resale) if I could. As it is at the
moment I'm selling guitars I don't play very much on Craigslist and hoping for better days ahead financially........ .

I would think that price point would be the primary sticker here, unless there is some kind of labor/contract hold is on the companies and or vendors. No
company wants to compete with itself and all companies want to profit. From what I've heard these Stanford Performers are the cats meow, the holy grail of
tone/cost. Steve would know better than anybody what these guitars could sell for, what the market would bare. How long did Steve sit on the 102 he got? Seems
to me these Stanford Performers sell themselves. Would I pay a couple hundred more than Steve sold them originally for to get my hands on one. Hell yes! So
maybe there is another way around this barn.
Who is the biggest seller world wide of this brand? If they hold an exclusive primary contract perhaps a deal could be struck with that retailer. The markup Steve would need to put on these pieces buying them from a vendor rather than the manufacturer to make it worth everybodies while seems to me to be workable as he'd still get more of a unit break than any of us could. How about it, Steve? A trip abroad would be fun and you could write the trip off. You could market them as "Smuggler Specials" or "Black Market Bootie". Might just as well throw some sizzle in there with the steak! |

Just my 2 cents worth! I'm not in this for fame,my reward is to know I have made a small difference in one person's life... |

Time to organize costs. I'm simply selling off my guitar stock and changing to a different business model.
I'm game, but I need a sugar daddy and lots of cuddling to get into this kind of thing again.
