BR-140A to the BR-140A-2 in termsof the sound? I thought some one had said that the mahogany on the A2
was of a premium grade vs. the standard grade on the A version, and that the bridge plate was different on the A2 than on the A version.
Anybody?

Say all the discussion regarding the 140A models, Adi etc. I was wondering has any one compared the-
BR-140A to the BR-140A-2 in termsof the sound? I thought some one had said that the mahogany on the A2 was of a premium grade vs. the standard grade on the A version, and that the bridge plate was different on the A2 than on the A version. Anybody? Soli Deo Gloria!

Hi Brad...Saga does not list the BR 140A-2 in their catalogue but I'll take a GUESS and speculate it is a special order by a retailer and the difference
between it and a straight BR 140A is the A2 would be
1.) No over-the-top application of headstock abalone. A2 has a very plain headstock 2.) the A2 may have a 1.75" nut width compared to 1 11/16" nut width on regular BR dreads. I have not verified however, on the BR 160A-2 this tends to be the only differences compared to the BR-160A. With your percieved differences you list, I think you may have gotten confused with the differences between a BR- 140 and a BR-240. I'm sure others will confirm or set us straight if I have made an error. |

Yes, I'm aware of the differences in Item 1 and Item 2. as well as less bling lighter aging toner etc..
Guess what I was after was has anyone played one side by side regarding sound, tone, sustain etc.. and if so does the A2 out preform the A model? Soli Deo Gloria!

gtrnglf wrote: Sorry about that obvious info, Brad. If there was more of an abundance of A2s around there would be more forumites who could answer that (tonal differences). Hopefully someone's had both in hand and can give you a firsthand answer.

Sorry Brad as well. With your initial description regarding differences in bridgeplates and quality of wood, I assumed you were confused as the BR-240 is
touted as having these differences.
I was not aware the 140A-2 also shared these differences with a 140A. Again...Appologies |
