Is "4-ever" a contraction of "4 months or whatever"?!

Forever....hmm....that means as long as you can stand it, right?!! :)
Congrats on the PSD20 coming your way. It's nice to see someone get excited about the "plain-jane" model Stanfords! Can't wait to hear how you like it... Jeff |

Congrats!

well I got it home, cleaned it up, installed a new FWI Colosi saddle and put some mediums on it and it
sounds great.............big rosewood dread sound as well as being very focused...............I really love how focused these Stanfords can sound especially
the 10's & 20's...............

man!!!!! I can't get over how great these Stanford 10 and 20's series sound!!!!! I keep
waiting for the guitar to explode or the top to pop off or something bad cause a guitar that cost this much shouldn't sound this good!!!!! I just don't
get it!!!!!!! oh well, I guess I'll just stop obsessing about it and enjoy them!!!!!

days. Must be your enthusiasm is rubbing off, Louie!

YOU GUY'S.......... just STOP it !... I'm going for the Rolaids jar again !
So...from all you Stanford owners who also own Martin's. Do these things "out-Martin" Martin guitar's ? First Dave talks about getting rid of his and Louie has put his Martin in temporary stasis. You can say it here if you want.... LOL...I just had a mental pic of Deputy Dave council someone laying on a Psych's couch saying " It's OK to love your Stanford more... Your Martin won't leave you in spite or anger"..
Steve P. .. I have not dismissed the concept...It's going to take some time to restructure my business plan. |

Terry, to answer as honestly as I can, my Stanford is so good that I really wouldn't look for another Martin unless a very exceptional one
happened to appear in front of me. The Stanford has a certain something that incorporates the best of the CFM sound, along with a balance across registers and
a projection that I've rarely found in any guitar, period. My old D-18 is one of those exceptional "wonder guitars," and it and the PSD28 will be
staying around. Since I've had the Stanford, I've played my HD-28 about twice, as a perfunctory obligation. I still like it a lot, and if finances
don't demand otherwise I'll prolly keep it, but it is, for all intents and purposes, up on blocks.
You forget it and I'll forget it, but I'll remember it, and don't you forget it!

have to agree with Dave on this.......... I don't see myself buying another Martin at all unless
some incredible deal comes along that I couldn't pass up, and I mean like a "Stupid Deal of the Day" deal......................I'm not paying
more for a Martin than what I've paid for these Stanford Performers and that's less than 7 bills each..........oh and by the way, the BR-180 that I
sold to get this PSD20 doesn't even come close to sounding as good..............

dmcowles wrote:Played Gibsons at Guitar Center last week: J45,Jumbo, Hummingbird (not the True Vintage) and Songwriter deluxe-- also the higher end Taylors. None of them sounded as good as my Stanford PSD21 in my opinion. It has a full rich and sweet quality that makes it a tough guitar to put down. Now I'm curious how the PSD21 compares to an equivalent Santa Cruz or Collings dread. |

i can comment that my "new" PSD-28 sounds much finer to my ears than the collings cj i recently sold. and that cj was purchased new in 2007 for
$4700.00. the stanford has a quality of sound that makes my heart sing. hard to define it, but it "moves" me somewhere deep inside.

I know what you mean - this last PSRD28 is really sweet under pick or fingers, very responsive and easy.
